To comic fans Jim Lee has a distinctive style that was an instant success, his name is synomynous with Batman since his move to DC Comics in the late 1990's. Before that Lee was known for his work on Marvel's The X-Men where he created new costumes for the characters that gave them an edgier appearance. Along with seven other artists he formed Image Comics where his group of titles were formed under Wildstorm Productions with WildC.A.T.S being the main title. A true fine art piece, the setting for 'Batman Over San Prospero' was inspired by the Modena landscape of North-Central Italy where Jim Lee spends time every year. # This image was featured in 'Jim Lee Millennium Edition,' a Wizard hardcover text compiling artwork from Lee’s prolific career at Marvel Comics, Image Comics, WildStorm Productions and DC Comics along with a dazzling assortment of unpublished art from his personal collection. The image and its location demonstrates how like crime, Batman is also impervious to borders. He can be found anywhere as a vigilante crime fighter. 'Batman Over San Prospero' is produced as a Giclee on paper, numbered in an edition of 250, and is hand-signed by Lee. |
