Toonhound Talks
David McKee first brought him to life in a titular picture book published in 1989, and since then, his numerous bestselling books have racked up over 5m worldwide sales.
So why are we talking Ghibli today? Well for starters, there's the studio's latest offering to salivate over. It's their 18th feature, if you're counting these things. "The Borrower Arrietty" ("Karigurashi no Arrietti") is adapted from Mary Norton's classic children's story about a family of little people - Borrowers - who live in the same home as a human family. Jim Broadbent and John Goodman starred in a live-action version, back in 1997, and before that we had a serialised adaptation on the BBC.
To Pixar... and beyond
Have you caught up with "Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom" yet? It's a little series that's big on cuteness, from the creators of "Peppa Pig", and it's currently airing on Nick Jr and Five's morning Milkshake!, here in the UK (here's the official site).
The art of a new venture!
